What comes inside a standard porta potty?
A standard porta potty from our Beaumont yard has 6 basics: a toilet seat over a sealed tank, a urinal, toilet paper, a hand sanitizer dispenser, a roof vent and a lockable door with an occupied sign. The standard unit arrives sanitized, deodorized and stocked, so it is ready to use the minute the driver leaves.

How big is a standard porta potty, and will it fit through my gate?
A typical standard porta potty is about 44 inches wide, 48 inches deep and 7 feet 6 inches tall, with a tank of about 60 gallons. The empty unit weighs about 160 pounds. Plan for a clear path about 48 inches wide from the truck to the spot, with no low branches overhead.
| Measurement | Typical size |
|---|---|
| Width | About 44 in |
| Depth | About 48 in |
| Height | About 7 ft 6 in |
| Waste tank | About 60 gal |
| Weight empty | About 160 lb |
| Clear path | About 48 in wide |
Side yards in Sundance, Olivewood and Fairway Canyon are often tight. Measure the gate and any turns before you call. If it will not fit, the driver can set the unit by the driveway or curb, if your HOA allows it.
Where should I put a porta potty on my property?
Put a standard porta potty on firm, level ground about 10 steps from where people gather, with the door facing away from food and wind. Concrete, packed dirt and short grass all work. Mark the spot with a stake, cone or chalk X, and text a GPS pin for raw land with no address.
- Pick level groundA slope makes the door swing and the unit rock. A slab or packed pad is best.
- Leave a 48-inch pathMove trash cans, hoses and patio furniture before the truck arrives.
- Face the door awayAway from food tables and away from the west wind that runs through the Pass.
- Keep the truck in reachThe service truck needs to park within hose reach for weekly pumping.
- Check HOA rulesMaster-planned and 55+ communities may limit what can sit in view of the street. Confirm with your HOA.
Will Beaumont wind knock over a porta potty?
An unstaked porta potty can tip in Beaumont wind. San Gorgonio Pass advisories bring gusts of 50–60 mph with blowing dust. We stake every standard unit placed on an open lot, ridgeline, new tract or field, and we face the door away from the gusts so wind cannot catch it open.
More on spots and stakes in the Pass wind and weather placement guide.
How often does a standard porta potty get cleaned?
A standard porta potty on a job site or monthly rental gets 1 service visit every week, included in the 28-day price. The driver pumps the tank, scrubs and sanitizes, adds deodorizer, restocks paper and sanitizer, and re-checks the stakes. Event units arrive clean, and multi-day events can add daily service.
Need a standard unit on site this afternoon?
Call before noon, Monday through Saturday. We load a sanitized, stocked unit at the Highway 60 yard and text you 30 minutes before we arrive.
Weekly is the minimum for health reasons, even if one person uses the unit. The price is the same for light or heavy use. Hot crews can add a second weekly visit. See long-term and monthly rentals.
Can I lock a standard porta potty on a job site?
Yes. A standard porta potty can have 1 hasp added on request, and you may put on your own combination padlock. Give us the code so the driver can get in on the weekly service day. A locked unit that we cannot open on service day misses that visit.
